The Waterway District includes a wide variety of venues from culinary training to live music, a gourmet market to a wide variety of dining choices.  The Woodlands Waterwall fountain features colored lights, synchronized to selected audio tracks during the evening hours is located at Waterway Square Park, on Waterway Square Place, just off of Waterway Avenue. Waterway Square (Park) comprises roughly 3-4 blocks, all between the waterway to the south, The Woodlands Mall to the north, Woodlands Marriott to the west, and Timberloch drive to the east. Woodlands Parkway to the south, and Lake Robbins Drive to the north. Waterway Avenue is the primary street in the Waterway Square Entertainment District, with direct access to Cinemark Tinseltown 17 Theaters.

The Woodlands complimentary Woodlands Trolleys provide excellent transportation in and around the Downtown Woodlands area, including Hughes Landing. Park your car at one of the nearby parking garages or street level parking options and let the Trolley take you from one area to the next. "The Woodlands Waterway" is an initiative of The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Town Center Owners Association. The Waterway extends from Town Green Park to The Woodlands Mall. Included along the way are two hotels, multiple high-rise office buildings, Millennium Mew (The Waterway Koi Pond) , the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the Riva Row Boathouse.

During Spring Break 2009, it also became a great place to listen to live music at lunchtime. The festivities during The Woodlands Live at Lunch allowed visitors to experience the world-class fountains, and live music during Spring Break 2009. The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted a preview to the 2009 Live at Lunch series at Waterway Square on Monday, March 16, 2009 and Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Ramon Torres was the featured musician. The Live at Lunch series began April 7, 2009 and ran every Tuesday through April 28, 2009. In 2016 The Woodlands added a permanent performance stage for live music at Waterway Square, and there was no turning back. Now, throughout the year there are a multitude of Waterway Nights and Live at Night, featuring live music and strolling entertainers. Check the events calendar for more information.

Town Center offers an outdoor-mall shopping experience be more to your liking, you can visit the Market Street Shopping Center, also in Town Center. Market Street is directly across Lake Robbins Drive from the Cynthia Woods Pavilion (CWMP).  Market Street at Town Center offers several restaurants, retail stores such as Tiffany & Co., Brooks Brothers and Eddie Bauer, as well as a Cinemark Theater. Where once stood a miniature golf course is now the Hyatt Market Street Hotel.

The Woodlands Town Center Shopping District also includes stores like Office Max, Target and Best Buy, and other major retailers such as Ross, Marshalls, and The Container Store. Beyond The Woodlands Town Center, there are over a dozen area shopping centers throughout The Woodlands, in all corners and within the community itself. Each Village has it's own center, anchored by a major grocery retailer - along with a broad variety of national, regional, and local retailers and specialty shops.

The Woodlands Mall, a well established Shopping Destination in the Greater Houston area, has continued to enhance its regional reputation. Nationally known names like anchor stores Macy's (previously Foley's), JC Penney, and Dillards to the impressive list of almost 200 retailers that call the two-story shopping complex home. The Woodlands Mall has sought-after retailers such as The Apple Store, Forever 21, Coach, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, The Sony Store, and many more.

Chang's China Bistro, and then you have the food court on the second floor of the mall.

Market Street at The Woodlands offers Premiere Concierge Services including Complimentary Secure Package and Bag Check with 24/7 retrieval. Also available are Market Street Gift Cards, Town Center Restaurant Menus and Reservations all provided at no charge. The Woodlands Market Street Retail Center is an outdoor shopping mall anchored by HEB and includes a variety of dining options, unique shops, and one of the two area Cinemark Theaters.

Change for Charity

Four Montgomery County charities will benefit from the thousands of dollars in change inserted in Market Street’s voluntary parking meters throughout the year as the shopping, dining and entertainment destination announces the beneficiaries of the annual Change for Charity program: CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County, Foundation for Autism Care, Angel Reach and Canopy at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands.

Market Street – The Woodlands is a 562,322 square foot outdoor lifestyle mixed-use property located in The Woodlands, Texas, approximately 25 miles north of Houston across from the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The grocery anchored property contains 376,428 square feet of street level retail, combined with 115,894 square feet of Class A office space and a 70 room 70,000 square foot Hyatt Centric hotel. In addition, the project includes a 5 screen Cinema and 21 restaurants and eateries. Trademark Property Company manages the project, including development, leasing and property management services. Market Street is owned by a joint venture between an affiliate of Trademark Property Company and Institutional Mall Investors.
