The Woodlands July 4th Parade

Wake up early on July 4th, put on your red, white and blue to get a prime viewing spot for the exciting South County 4th of July Parade. The 1.3-mile parade begins and ends at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. The parade begins at 9 a.m., with marching bands, fire engines, clowns, horses and floats. A tent will be set up in front of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for senior citizens and the physically challenged to obtain relief from the summer heat. Roads will be closed during the parade.

Morning of July 4th
0600 – Earliest volunteers arrive
0630 – Setup of check-in booths, staging lot and judging area begins
0700 – The Village open for dignitaries
0700 – Commercial floats arrive, locate along Lake Woodlands Drive
0725 – Golf Carts (6) arrive: 2 at staging lot - 2 for Stewart, 1 for Kim & Dan, 1 for Kelly, 1 for Anna, 1 for Joe
0730 – Refreshments arrive at The Village for dignitaries
0730 – Sheriff barricade of Lake Woodlands Drive @ Lake Front Circle begins.
0800 – Character and DJ entertainment begins
0830 – Sheriff barricade of streets begins (progressive).
0840 – Judges relocate to judging stand, dignitaries relocate to their assigned vehicles
0840 – “Line-up” on Lake Woodlands Drive begins at Grogan’s Mill Road
0845 – Motorcycle group makes "sweep” of parade route
0900 – Parade starts at Grogan’s Mill Road and Lake Woodlands Drive
0920 – 0925 – First elements of parade arrive at judging stand
0920 - First elements of parade arrive at Market Street
0945 – Last elements of parade exit staging lot; first elements of parade arrive at staging lot, may re-enter or immediately depart area by going Northbound on Grogan's MillRoad. Westbound on Lake Woodlands will be available as parade clears staging lot exit.
1000 – Last elements of parade clear Grogan's Mill Road (at Lake Robbins).
1030 - Parade ends: last elements of parade arrive at staging lot.
1100 – Clean up: remove trash & recycle bins. Sweeper cleans streets & staging lot.
Early Evening - Prizes awarded at Red, Hot & Blue Festival stage. 

“Things That Go” Bike Parade and Concert in the Park at Northshore Park
July 4th - Northshore Park - 5:30 PM
Bring the kids to Northshore Park at 4:30 p.m. for the “Things That Go” Bike Parade and Decorating Contest. Families are invited to parade their patriotically-decorated bike around the park with awards to follow. Decorating materials will be provided, or you can bring your own. The event is free and open to children ages 14 and under. The parade will begin at 4:15 p.m. with judging to begin at 5:15 p.m. Don’t forget to pack a picnic and bring your lawn chairs for an evening of great music, beginning at 5:30 p.m.


Splash Day
July 4th - Community Pools - 12 PM to 4 PM
Cool off on the Fourth of July at one of the Township's 14 community pools! The lifeguards at each pool will a select special theme and provide free activities and refreshments while supplies last. Pools will be FREE to all residents from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with activities occurring between noon and 4 p.m.


Red, Hot & Blue Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza
July 4th in Town Green Park & Along The Woodlands Waterway from 6:00 - 10:00 PM
Celebrate freedom in The Woodlands at the 2019 Annual Red, Hot and Blue Festival with vendor booths, great food, children’s activities and entertainment on multiple stages at Town Green Park and Waterway Square from 6 to 10 p.m. This community-wide celebration offers fun for all ages. The event culminates with one of the largest fireworks displays in the Greater Houston area with the 20+ minute Fireworks Extravaganza over The Woodlands Town Center.

Celebrate July 4th, 2018 in The Woodlands! The best place for fireworks for miles around is The Woodlands, Texas. But that's not all! The Woodlands has Fourth of July activities planned several days of July 4th week. Independence Day provides a chance to rekindle your patriotic spirit and, of course, show your national pride the entire holiday week. While traditional celebrations like fireworks displays and cookouts are always fun, there are other ways to celebrate the birth of America. If you're looking for new or different ways to celebrate the holiday, we've got all the best options here. To our knowledge, most any of the 4th of July activities and events we have included below are pet-friendly as well (at least, those not at the swimming pools!). Just be sure to abide by the Montgomery County Animal Control restraint laws and all should be well. And please pick up after your pets!

On Tuesday July 3rd you might enjoy the Houston Symphony's Star Spangled Salute Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion for the Performing Arts starting at 8:00 PM, with free pre-concert activities for the whole family including patriotic characters, music, arts and crafts, souvenirs and more in the North Plaza gates open at 6:30pm.

Bring a friend, family, kids, co-workers or even a date as well as something to eat to this FREE event and take in the sights and sounds of the Houston Symphony. Enjoy traditional patriotic favorites, an old-fashioned Texas sing along, and a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky's famed "1812 Overture," complete with cannons on the hill. This is a FREE event! No tickets required.

Star-Spangled Salute
July 3rd - Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion -
Gates Open @ 6:30 PM with Concert @ 8PM

The holiday festivities begin on Tuesday, July 3rd with the Houston Symphony’s Star-Spangled Salute. The concert features a selection of patriotic favorites, American Classics, sing-alongs, and of course, Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” complete with cannons from atop the hill. The concert begins at 8 p.m. at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and admission is FREE. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
