From splashing around in the water at Waterway Square to dining at one of the many gourmet restaurants or simply enjoying a stroll, there's no denying The Waterway is popular attraction in The Woodlands Town Center. The Woodlands parks, shopping centers, and villages are, or will be, interconnected via The Woodlands Pathways System - 4' wide concrete sidewalks winding through the Villages connecting the various neighborhoods. The pathways also connect the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the various free parking areas for the seasonal concerts and events held at the renowned outdoor amphitheater.
Grandma's Purse
If you view the mosaic from the upper floors of the surrounding buildings, the overall design of Grandma's Purse is that of a giant, friendly Petri dish; with the eyes and lips of happy micro-organisms sending out jets of water. There are 20 cast glass objects, 20 bronze objects, and 100 water-jet cut tiles.
The Waterwall
The Woodlands Waterway is impressive, and features lighted walkways for night-time walks, the Waterway Cruiser service and beautiful fountains. A favorite attraction are The Fountains at Waterway Square light shows, choreographed fountains with music and lights which play throughout the day and evening on a 15 minute rotation.
Food & Beverages
Surrounding Waterway Square Park are several places to eat and places to drink, and if you drink too much, there are two hotels within walking distance. All of the dining locations feature patio seating, many of them overlook Waterway Square Park. A couple of them even offer a view of the Waterwall fountain.
Located between The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center and The Westin Woodlands Hotel, Waterway Square is an initiative of The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Township and The Woodlands Town Center Owners Association. The colored fountains at Waterway Square are adjacent to Waterway Avenue, which runs between Woodlands Parkway and Lake Robbins Drive. Waterway Avenue affords a scenic view of Waterway Square Park as it crosses the The Woodlands Waterway ending/beginning directly in front of Tinseltown 17 at Lake Robbins Drive.
