Northshore Park features public picnic areas, a public ramp for non-motorized boats and a venue for musical entertainment. Southshore Park includes an observation platform for views of 200-acre Lake Woodlands, surrounding neighborhoods and an up-close look at the Rise of the Midgard Serpent (more commonly referred to as "the dragon") which was gifted by Cynthia Woods Mitchell in celebration of the opening of the lake. The Village of Panther Creek borders the west shore of Lake Woodlands was unveiled in 1977. Panther Creek Village is home to more than 5,000 homes and close to 14,000 residents. The village is named for Panther Creek; an actual waterway which runs through the village and borders the western shore of Lake Woodlands, and includes several waterfront neighborhoods, and two waterfront parks. Panther Creek Village (The second village) is located in the eastern [or front] half of The Woodlands and offers easy access to Town Center and I-45.

  • Along the northern and southern banks of Lake Woodlands lie Northshore and Southshore Parks, two of the most scenic locales in The Woodlands. The pavilion at Southshore Park overlooks “Rise of the Midgard Serpent,” affectionately referred to by residents as “the dragon.” Northshore Park is the site for the annual YMCA Dragon Boat Races and the Community Associations’ “Concerts in the Park” series each spring and summer.     Unveiled in 1977, the Village of Panther Creek is home to more than 5,000 homes and 13,860 people. An actual creek – Panther Creek – runs alongside Panther Creek Village, expanding into Lake Woodlands, and includes several waterfront neighborhoods, along with two waterfront parks.
