The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department
offers group, and private swimming lessons for all ages.
The Woodlands is also home to five swim teams, The Cyclones TAAF Swim Team, The Hurricanes Swim Club, The Riptides Swim Team, The Waves Swim Team, as well as The Woodlands Junior Swim Team, designed to teach the strokes and skills needed to swim competitively with the other teams. The Woodlands Swim Team (TWST), and The Woodlands Marlins (an NWAL team) also call The Woodlands home. Proficient swimming capabilities are pre-requisite to join a Woodlands Swim Team.
Join a Woodlands Swim Team
To qualify for a younger swim team , swimmers ages 5 and older must demonstrate prerequisite abilities of swimming freestyle and backstroke, swim 25 yards in one minute. If your child isn’t ready to move up to swim team with all the needed skills, start with the Junior Swim Team; please note: this is not a learn-to-swim program. All swimmers must be age 4 and older and able to swim the length of the pool. Junior Swim Team Fees are $65 for residents, and $75 for non-resident swimmers, per month. One-on-one swimming lessons in The Woodlands are available for all skill levels, 30-minute sessions.
