The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department Mission Statement - To empower informed choices for the sustained health of our community and environment through a wide variety of programs which provide information and resources for healthy, and sustainable living. The Woodlands Township Activities combined with other community resources creates multiple opportunities for community-based conservation events and activities.
Township Community Resources
Monitoring the Waste Management contract, providing an integrated residential solid waste plan for the community. Services include once-per-week curbside collection of garbage, recyclables and yard trimmings. In addition, the department oversees The Woodlands Recycling Center, located at 5310 Research Forest Drive.
Recycling and Solid Waste
Mosquito surveillance and education, supporting South Montgomery County Mosquito Abatement and Harris County Mosquito Control District in the prevention of spreading of mosquito-borne disease(s).
The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department operates and maintains 135 parks, more than 1,800 acres of open green-space, nearly 210 miles of hike and bike paths, and 14 swimming pools for residents to enjoy. We invite you to explore everything that Parks and Recreation has to offer!
Litter reduction and green-up programs including Great American CleanUp and America Recycles Day. The Woodlands Township invites volunteers to register now for the 10th annual Earth Day GreenUp on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
