The Village of Indian Springs

Founded in 1984, Indian Springs is a “land-locked” village, meaning it’s bordered on all sides by other villages. The median construction year of its homes in 1996, and is home to some very prestigious neighborhoods (subdivisions) in the area. 

The discovery of indian artifacts from the Bidai tribe of Atakapan Indians led to this Village's unique name. In the early eighteenth century, the Bidai ranged across most of the land that would eventually become Montgomery County, Texas. By around 1900, virtually no trace of the tribe remained - until the artifacts were unearthed in 1984. This secluded village now consists of more than 2,100 homes and 6,345 residents. This is the only village featuring hilly terrain - perfect for the athlete in training.
Children living in this village attend some of the best schools in The Woodlands. Elementary-aged kids go to Galatas and Glen Loch, Wilkerson and McCullough are the local middle schools, and teenagers go to The Woodlands High School. The John cooper School, a private college preparatory academy for grades K-12 is located in this village, as well as the Interfaith Child Development Center. The renowned John Cooper School, a private college preparatory academy for students in grades K-12, is located in Indian Springs. Interfaith Child Development Center, one of the largest pre-school/child care centers, is also in this village.

The geography of Indian Springs is special, as it’s the only village with hilly terrain. That makes it a perfect complement to the eight different parks in the area. Additionally, the primary shopping center for the village is anchored by a large H-E-B grocery store. It’s obvious why Woodlands Reserve makes it home in Indian Springs. Located right off Gosling at the southern tip of the village, we’re right across the street from The Woodlands Fire Department 8.

  • Two of the 14 swimming pools in The Woodlands are in The Village of Indian Springs. Falconwing, aka the Frog pool is on Rush Haven Drive, the other is the Octopus pool on Forestgate drive.

  • Indian Springs Village Center is anchored by an HEB grocery store located in the 6600 block of The Woodlands Parkway, directly across from Kroger, anchoring the retail center for the Village of Sterling Ridge.
