The Village of Panther Creek borders the west shore of Lake Woodlands, the villages of Cochran’s Crossing, and Indian Springs. Panther Creek Village is home to more than 5,000 homes and close to 14,000 residents. The village is named for Panther Creek; an actual (flood zone) waterway which runs through the village and widened into of Lake Woodlands. Panther Creek Village includes several waterfront neighborhoods, and two waterfront parks. Panther Creek Village (The second village) is located in the eastern [or front] half of The Woodlands and offers easy access to Town Center and I-45.

The Village of Panther Creek opened in 1977 and is the second village in The Woodlands. The Village of Panther Creek is also home to the lake-front Northshore and Southshore parks, two public swimming pools, and The Woodlands’ iconic dragon, “Rise of the Midgard Serpent,” “The Dreamer” sculptures, and several others scattered through the residential area.

Panther Creek Village features a variety of restaurants located in various areas across the village. Your dining choices extend from breakfast at Brooklyn Bagel, lunch at The Black Walnut or Los Cuco’s and Crust Pizza for dinner. A quick meal can be had at the Taco Bell or relax and people watch while dining at the Randall’s Signature Cafe.

The North Course at the Trails in The Woodlands is one of two eighteen hole courses in the Village of Panther Creek. The North Course wraps around Forest Oasis: Lazy River & Waterpark and many restaurants. Designed by Joe Lee and Robert von Hagge, Panther Trail Course at The Golf Trails of The Woodlands measures 7044 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 130 and a 73.6 USGA rating. The Panther Trail Golf course features 4 tee placements for different skill levels. The twenty acre course features numerous water-scenes and Texas wildflowers. The course greens are tifeagle and the fairways are 419 Bermuda.

The Woodlands is home to one of the largest collections of public art in the State of Texas. From mosaics and sculptures to a growing collection of art benches, there are many pieces to view, and enjoy. Make plans to visit the various mosaics, sculptures and a collection of art-benches, to view, enjoy, and of course, have a sit and a selfie!

The Woodlands Public Parks

Public Parks offer a wide variety of outdoor activities. A public park in The Woodlands is a short bike ride, or a nice stroll away along a nearby pathway. Wheel Friendly Parks are located in several villages, and the softer surface of Millbend Linear Loop in Grogan’s Mill Village is favored by joggers.

The Woodlands Public Art Bench Project

The Woodlands Public Art Bench Project allowed local, national, and international artists to add their own flare to Town Center by contributing a custom built bench. The Woodlands Art Council oversees the benches up to installation prior to handing them off to the The Woodlands Township for the foreseeable future of said benches.
