The Woodlands Winter Ice Rink

The Woodlands will kick off a bright and beautiful holiday season with the Annual Lighting of the Doves at Town Green Park in mid November (typically) from 4 to 8 p.m. The event signifies the start of the Ice Skating Rink, as well as The Woodlands Texas holiday season. Attendees come together as a sign of unity for the ceremonial illumination of the giant doves, which have attracted thousands of visitors over the years. In addition, Lighting of the Doves celebrates and honors cultural diversity within The Woodlands with a variety of traditional and international performers such as dancers and more.

The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center is located in its brand new, 21,000 square foot permanent home at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive, The Woodlands, 77380, near the north gate entry of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the intersection of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive. The new multi-purpose facility features ice skating in a main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties, and concessions.
Open Daily (November 20, 2019 – January 18, 2020), the coolest place to be in the Winter is The Ice Rink At The Woodlands Town Center, one of the largest seasonal ice rinks in the southwest. Now in it’s permanent home inside The Woodlands Multi-Use Facility, adjacent to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion North Entrance.
Plentiful parking is available in the Town Center Parking Garage (free), located at the north-east corner of Six Pines Drive and Lake Robbins Drive, adjacent to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion; catty-corner at the previous home of the Ice Rink – the surface lot (charge may apply) at the northeast corner of Six Pines Drive and Lake Robbins Drive; at 24 Waterway (adjacent to The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, paid); the Waterway Square Parking Garage (paid lot); or the Waterway Avenue Parking Lot (paid lot) at Waterway Avenue and Timberloch Place.

The Woodlands Township invites families and friends to enjoy seasonal ice skating in the 21,000-square-foot permanent multipurpose facility, located near the intersection of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive. The facility features ice skating in the main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, concessions, and (rentable) tables for your holiday party. The Ice Rink operates on a seasonal basis with special holiday hours for school holidays, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Daily Hours (excludes holidays; see holiday hours below)

  • Monday through Thursday: 3 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 3 to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m.

Skate Session Pricing Skating sessions are 1 hour, 45 minutes long, starting at $12.50 ea. (ice-skate rental included; plus applicable taxes).

Helmet and walker rental available onsite for additional fee:

  • Helmet rental – $10.00 plus tax.
  • Walker rental – $10.00 plus tax.
  • Table rentals available ($12.50 plus tax).

Waterway Swan Paddle Boats The Woodlands

The Swan-boats At The Mall, pop-up kiosk (geographically) is just north of the intersection of Mall Ring Road and Woodloch Forest Drive.  The Waterway location is at the heart of several outdoor mall restaurants making it a cute attraction for dinner and a boat-ride.  Swan pedal boats can be reserved for thirty minutes or one hour, (currently) weekends only.

The Lighting of the Doves Festival is a long-standing November tradition in The Woodlands that signifies the start of the holiday season in the community. Featuring snow play areas, vendor booths, children’s activities and more, Lighting of the Doves culminates with a special appearance by Santa Claus arriving by sleigh down The Woodlands Waterway followed by a nearby dazzling fireworks display.

WINTER FESTIVAL PARKING

Guests can find complimentary parking at numerous locations throughout Town Center Parking Garage (next to the ice rink), the surface lot at Lake Robbins Drive & Six Pines Drive, 24 Waterway Square Parking Garage, Waterway Square Parking Garage, and the surface lot at the corner of Timberloch Place and Waterway Avenue. Accessible parking is available at numerous locations throughout Town Center, just west of Town Green Park on Lake Robbins and the Gold lot in the ground level parking area adjacent to the Town Center Parking Garage.

Attendees will find additional potentially paid parking, the surface lot at the corner of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive (next to the Township Multi-use Building) and the Town Center Parking Garage on Six Pines Drive. Additional parking can be found at 24 Waterway Square Parking Garage (paid), Waterway Square Parking Garage (paid) and the surface lot at the corner of Timberloch Place and Waterway Avenue (potentially paid). Nearby Handicap parking (always free with plates or placards) is available in the South County Regional Library lot, just west of Town Green Park on Lake Robbins Drive.
