Sports fields in The Woodlands

Several full-size fields across four specifically designed parks

Increasing the availability of the Sports Fields in The Woodlands is a demand of thousands of recreational athletes in The Woodlands. Sports fields which are ‘always available’ are gained by replacing natural-grass fields with all-weather turf, a synthetic surface manufactured to resemble natural grass. The materials used are UV (ultraviolet)-resistant, highly durable, lasting for over 10 years. These play-surfaces can generate substantial support-cost savings as they do not require water and regular maintenance can be scheduled months in advance. Additionally, these all-weather surfaces are becoming more and more desirable for championship series events, bringing tourism revenue to The Woodlands.

Alden Bridge Sports Fields

Several full-size fields located on SH 242 / College Park Drive.

Located on College Park Drive, Alden Bridge Sports Park covers nearly 42 acres. Park amenities include: Ball Fields, Soccer Fields, Drinking Fountains, Parking, and Restrooms. Alden Bridge Sports Fields One and Two are synthetic, artificial turf.

Bear Branch Sport Field is located on Research Forest Drive. Play Fields One, Three, Four and Six are artificial turf, or synthetic grass.

Gosling Sports Fields

Multiple Sports Fields on Marisco Place

Gosling Sports Fields, a 29-acre site on 4055 Marsico Pl, The Woodlands accommodates variety field sports such as soccer, field hockey, rugby and flag football. The sports field park features five play fields, three of which are all-weather turf fields. Additionally, the sports facility includes spectator bleachers, a 1-mile jogging track, 1.5 miles of concrete pathways, shaded areas, restrooms, playground equipment, water fountains, and a pavilion. The land was donated to The Woodlands Township by The Woodlands Development Company as it is situated on a flood plain and well suited for a sports-related facility.
