Summer-time in southeast Texas is known for the heat and humidity, so when it comes to indoor activities, The Woodlands Downtown area has a wide variety of things to do. During the school year and after, tweens can attend events at The Gorilla Hole and assorted spring break events including a number of summer camps across the area. Family friendly indoor activities also include bowling at Main Event, or Bowlero, games at Dave & Busters, or a movie at one of four area movie theaters.

Outdoor fun can be had at any of the over 150 public parks in The Woodlands, include watercraft rentals on Lake Woodlands at Riva Row, or Hughes Landing.
The Rob Fleming Aquatic Center is the next best thing to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splash Town in Spring for beating the summer heat. There are currently 5 individual, muli-screen theaters AMC, Cinemark, Cinepolis, and Xscape in or near The Woodlands Township. Cinepolis features food and (adult) beverage service along with the latest movies to hit the Movie Theaters in The Woodlands Texas.
