Public Parks in the Village of Sterling Ridge

Sterling Ridge has 20 Township parks. Cranebrook Park is the village park, with the Cranebrook Pool, tennis courts and a BMX track. Terramont, May Valley and Pepperdale are the larger area parks, with courts, playgrounds and pavilions, and the rest are neighborhood parks and fishing ponds tucked into the subdivisions. 115 Cezanne Woods Dr.

Neighborhood park, about 1 acre, in the park system since 2004. 0.2 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 4 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

130 E. Beckonvale Cir.

Neighborhood park, about 2.4 acres, in the park system since 2000. 0.2 mile of pathway, 8 parking spaces. 2 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

Along Sterling Ridge Drive between West Beckonvale Circle and Bantam Woods Drive. The pavilion has a raised second tier with detailed woodwork, and the play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12 have open lawn around them.

17 W. Monteagle Dr.

Neighborhood park, about 1.4 acres, in the park system since 2008. 0.1 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 5 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

Just off Black Knight Drive, this park opened as Player Manor Park. Its play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12 used Kompan’s Galaxy equipment as of 2016, with a rocking tube in place of a slide. There’s also a 20-by-20-foot pavilion and belt swings.

Neighborhood park, under an acre, in the park system since 2000. 0.1 mile of pathway, 16 parking spaces in five small lots. 6 benches, a picnic table, a grill, a drinking fountain and 2 bike racks.

More picnic ground than playground: there’s no play equipment, just a 15-by-15-foot pavilion with lights and electricity, a grill and enough parking for a family get-together.

154 Bryce Branch Cir.

11800 Cranebrook Dr.

Village park, about 12 acres, in the park system since 2003. 55 parking spaces. 3 picnic tables, 2 grills, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

The village park, next to Coulson Tough Elementary and home to Cranebrook Pool. It has four lighted tennis courts, a grass field, a BMX dirt track that makes it a wheel-friendly park, two play areas and a 48-by-36-foot pavilion. More on Cranebrook Park.

Amenity park, about 2.4 acres. No parking lot. 2 benches.

A catch-and-release fishing pond with no play equipment. Its north shore doubles as a water hazard on the neighboring golf course. It isn’t the same park as Black Knight Park, a few blocks west.

9204 Terramont Dr.

Amenity park, about 3.1 acres. No parking lot. 2 benches.

11598 May Valley Cir., 77354

Area park, about 9.4 acres, in the park system since 2009. 0.7 mile of pathway, 29 parking spaces in two lots. 6 benches, 3 picnic tables, a grill, 2 drinking fountains, 2 restroom buildings and 2 bike racks.

Built around an 1800s Texas homestead theme: a log-cabin-style pavilion with a fireplace, wooden bridges over a creek that runs part of the year, dirt trails through the woods and interpretive signs about the plants and the old homestead. The May Valley sprayground has wagon wheels and a water tower. The park also has two lighted tennis courts with pickleball lines, a lighted basketball court, a grass field, restrooms and play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12.

33 1/4 Montfair Park Cir.

Neighborhood park, about 1.2 acres, in the park system since 2008. 0.1 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 6 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

One of the farthest-out parks in The Woodlands, inside the Montfair neighborhood. Play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12 (in 2016: slides, swings, spring riders and a teeter-totter) and a 15-by-15-foot pavilion with electricity.

90 E. Old Sterling Cir.

Neighborhood park, about 1.7 acres, in the park system since 2001. 0.1 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 2 benches, 2 picnic tables, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

On the corner of Sterling Ridge Drive and Old Sterling Circle at the neighborhood entrance, backing onto the greenbelt. Play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12, belt and bucket swings and a small pavilion.

17 N. Pentenwell Cir.

Area park, about 6.6 acres, in the park system since 2003. 0.4 mile of pathway, 10 parking spaces. 10 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

Inside the Player Woods neighborhood, with parking off Player Woods Drive. A 32-by-32-foot pavilion sits on the shore of a tree-lined fishing pond with two piers and an island where cranes and herons often stop. Fishing is catch and release. There are also two lighted tennis courts, a lighted basketball court and play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12.

4 Pendleton Park Pt.

Amenity park, about 8 acres. No parking lot.

A catch-and-release fishing lake. The pier and park sign are on the south shore along Player Bend Drive, across from Spruce Canyon Place; the northwest shore can be reached from Terramont Drive across from Deretchin Elementary.

1 St. Peters Gate

Neighborhood park, about a third of an acre, in the park system since 2004. No parking lot. 6 benches.

The smallest park in the village: a 12-by-12-foot gazebo ringed with benches.

11464 W. Branch Crossing Dr. and 108 Springtime Creek Dr.

Amenity park, about 8.5 acres. 0.2 mile of pathway, 10 parking spaces.

Fishing ponds with a jogging trail along them, reached from both West Branch Crossing Drive and Springtime Creek Drive.

Neighborhood park, about 1.6 acres. 0.2 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 5 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

Play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12, BBQ pits and a 12-by-12-foot pavilion.

1 Frontera Cir.

Neighborhood park, under an acre. 0.1 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 3 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

A small park with play equipment for younger and older children, picnic tables and BBQ pits.

13 Forest Steppes Ct.

Amenity park, about 4.4 acres, in the park system since 2003. No parking lot. A bench.

A catch-and-release pond with a fishing pier on North Terrace Mill Circle and a large open field for kites or a pickup game. It can also be reached from Terramont Park.

8500 Terramont Dr.

Area park, about 16 acres, in the park system since 2005. 0.6 mile of pathway, 40 parking spaces. 6 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, 3 drinking fountains, a restroom building and a bike rack.

Near Branch Crossing Drive and Terramont Drive. It has a nine-hole disc golf course, a small fenced dog park best suited to small dogs, and a skate area that makes it a wheel-friendly park. There are also two lighted tennis courts, a lighted basketball court, a grass field, restrooms, play areas and a 40-by-40-foot stage pavilion.

55 Acrewoods Pl.

Neighborhood park, about 1.2 acres, in the park system since 2004. 0.2 mile of pathway, no parking lot. 4 benches, 2 picnic tables, a grill, a drinking fountain and a bike rack.

At the entrance to the Winterra neighborhood, between Acrewoods Place and Terramont Drive. Shade awnings over the play areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12 and a 15-by-15-foot pavilion keep it cooler than most small parks.
